4. The {SAMPLE SIZE / 10} screen is displayed. Use [UP] and [DOWN] to set the number of samples
taken from the 4-20mA input to average. The DLC–XP will adjust its output to in accordance with
the average of the number of samples you set here. The DLC–XP samples the port every .25 seconds.
You may enter a value in the range of 1 to 100 samples.
Rule of Thumb: Increase the number of samples to smooth out a noisy input. Decrease the number
of samples to cause the DLC to track more closely a rapidly changing signal.

5. The {UPDATE EVERY / 20 SAMPLES} screen will appear. Use [UP] and [DOWN] to set how
often the DLC will adjust to the current average value. The default value (20) causes the DLC to

100 samples.
Rule of Thumb: Increase the number of samples if the input is not changing rapidly. Decrease the

7.2.12 Security
The DLC is capable of three modes of security:
1. None (OFF)
2. Tamper Proof
3. Calibration
With Tamper Proof security active, the DLC–XP will lockout all of the front panel keys with the
exception of [MOTOR]. To use any key you must first enter a four digit Personal Identification
Number (PIN). Successful entry of a PIN allows you to access all functions without PIN re-entry.
With Calibration security set, the DLC–XP will lockout only [CAL]. To use [CAL] you must first
enter your PIN. Successful entry of a PIN allows the user to access the [CAL] menu.
The security mode becomes active after 5-minutes of keypad in-activity.
